Retired Adults

Additional Information

Retired Adults Seeking Forever Homes

Placing our retired adults is never easy, but we believe it is always in their best interest. Our retired breeding dogs are lovingly cared for, house trained, and ready to begin their next chapter with the perfect family.

What You Can Expect:

  • House & Crate Trained: All of our retired adults are house trained and crate trained.
  • Spayed/Neutered: All adults will be spayed/neutered prior to placement.
  • Adoption Fee: Adoption fees for our retired adults range from $500 to $2,000.
  • Age: Our retired adults are typically around 3 years old at the time of retirement, depending on their breeding career.
  • Home Requirements: We require that you live in the state of Florida to adopt one of our retired adults.
  • Screening Process: We take great care in finding the right homes for our retired adults. Our screening process is as thorough as it is for new puppy homes.
  • Meet & Greet: A meet and greet will be scheduled, and we will need to visit your home to ensure it’s the right environment for one of our dogs.

30-Day Acclimation Period & Rehoming Policy:

We want to ensure that both the dog and the family are fully comfortable with the transition. For this reason, we offer a 30-day acclimation period to allow the dog to adjust to their new home and for the family to ensure they’re the right fit.

During this period, we ask that the family communicates with us regularly to provide updates and discuss the dog’s progress.

If, for any reason, the adoption does not work out, or the family feels that the dog is not the right fit, we request that they contact us immediately. Under no circumstances will our dogs or puppies be rehomed to another family, sent to a shelter, or placed anywhere other than with Childs Bulldogs. If the adoption is not successful, we will take the dog back and ensure it is placed in a new, loving home through our program.

Local Homes Only – Preference for Florida Residents:

At Childs Bulldogs, we prioritize placing our adult dogs in local homes within the state of Florida or nearby areas for the following reasons:

Why Local?
Due to the stress and potential risks of flying, especially for older dogs, we do not ship adult dogs across the country. Flying can be a traumatic experience for many dogs, and we feel the anxiety and potential complications during transport make it unsuitable for our adult dogs. Therefore, we prefer to place our dogs in homes that are within driving distance to Port Saint Lucie, Florida, so they can remain close to us.

Meet in Person
We encourage families to visit our home in Port Saint Lucie, Florida to meet the dogs in person. This gives you the opportunity to interact with the dogs and ensure it’s a good match for both your family and the dog.

Local Transport
For families within driving distance, we are happy to personally transport the dog to your home, ensuring a smooth and safe transition. We want to make sure the dog is comfortable and that you feel confident in the adoption process.

Looking for Five-Star Homes for Our Retired Dogs

At Childs Bulldogs, our priority is always the well-being of our dogs. We seek five-star homes where we can ensure that each dog's individual needs are met, and their future family will be a perfect match.

We carefully evaluate the lifestyle and environment of each prospective family to ensure it aligns with the needs of the adult dog. When you contact us, we’ll discuss what you're looking for, so we can help guide you to the best dog for your family. We want to make sure our dogs fulfill your needs as well as their own.

Our goal is to make sure both the dog and the family are a perfect fit for a long and happy life together.

The unfortunate part of breeding is that we are unable to keep every dog, if we did our program wouldn't be able to continue to grow. This page is dedicated to the adults that were apart of our program and have now been retired. Select adults may be available once their breeding career is over.

Seeking a Forever Home for Emma & Harper – Bonded Sisters (Available Late 2025)

We are looking for the perfect forever home for Emma and Harper, our beautiful, bonded sisters. These two share an inseparable bond—they kennel together, play together, and are happiest by each other’s side. We will only place them together, never separately.

Availability & Adoption Timeline

  • Emma has already been spayed and is ready for retirement.
  • Harper will be spayed and ready for retirement toward the end of 2025.
We are actively searching for the right home, but if we don’t find the perfect fit, both girls will remain here with us at Childs Bulldogs, where they’ll continue to be loved and cared for.

Key Details

  • Bonded Pair: Emma and Harper must stay together. They’re wonderful with other dogs and children, making them a great fit for a family who values their close connection.
  • Health & Care: Both girls are up-to-date on vaccinations and veterinary care. Emma is already spayed; Harper will be spayed prior to placement.
  • Well-Behaved: Both are house-trained, crate-trained, and well-mannered indoors.
  • Healthy Diet: Both girls have been on Farmina dog food since one year of age. We kindly request their new family continue feeding them this high-quality diet to maintain their health.
  • No Known Allergies.

Rehoming Fee & Placement

A rehoming fee of $1,500 applies to cover spay expenses and ensure they’re placed in a committed, loving home. We will carefully screen interested families to ensure Emma and Harper’s needs are fully met.

Why Emma & Harper?

Emma and Harper have been integral members of our family. They are affectionate, calm, and loving companions who deserve a retirement filled with love and comfort. We are committed to finding them a five-star home where they will be cherished for the rest of their lives.
